Butternut Carving Blocks
Price range: $1.50 through $48.00
Our butternut comes from the northern states and is my favorite wood. We stock a variety of sizes of great looking butternut carving stock. Sadly the butternut trees are suffering from a canker and dying. We try to obtain the best logs we can – butternut carving blocks may have some worm holes or other imperfections.

Baltrip, Edward –
Beautiful soft carving wood. Looks similar to oak but cuts like butter. I could detect very few fuzzies when plunge cutting.
Jim Roberts –
Have switched from carving animals out of walnut to using butternut. The grain pattern is spectacular and my knives stay sharp much longer. Am a repeat buyer of Loess Hills and recommend them.
Gary Goff (Wisconsin) –
I recently ordered two pieces of butternut that were rec’d on Aug 5th in excellent condition. I will be ordering more. Thank you.
